Is this You? Dissonance Dance Theatre is looking for dancers who are talented, professional and hard-working. Dissonance Dance Theatre company members receive monthly stipends. Apprentices are non-paid positions. Approximately 24 weeks of work with 20-25 hours of training per week. We provide men’s classes, PT referrals, and pointe shoe allotments; limited moving assistance available.

No International Dancers At This Time.

Dissonance Dance Theatre (DDT) is a growing artistic force in the Washington, D.C. area. DDT builds its momentum through its diverse talent which is hungry, eager, and professional.

Founded by Principal Choreographer Shawn Short in 2007, DDT harnesses a productive, fast-paced work environment geared toward dancers who are ready and eager to dance athletically, quick and with expression.

Our dancers range from 5’3 to 5’9 for female dancers and 5’6 to 6’2 for our male dancers. Company dancers ranks include: Soloists, Corp de Ballet, ApprenticeTrainee. The repertoire ranges from folkloric to classical ballet with four to six productions a year. Dancers receive a monthly stipend starting in Fall 2019. Currently, we only take dancers with American citizenship.

All dancers abide by a company-wide sexual harassment policy, providing a safe workplace for all.
